Welcome to Edmonds United Methodist Church!

We are glad you are thinking of visiting us! Our worship services are at 9:00 am and 10:30 am with Sunday School and child care for children of all ages during each service*. Holy Communion is offered the first Sunday of every month at both services. Adult and Youth Education opportunities are presented at the 10:30 hour. If you have questions about any of our programs, please contact the church office (425.778.2119 or office@edmondsumc.org.) We look forward to seeing you in person on Sunday-let us know that you visited us on the web!

MAY IN THE ART HALL
We are very pleased to present a special photographic display with accompanying text of the sea life to be found at low tide on the beaches here in Edmonds. Created by Nancy Engen and Cordell Hauglie, you know it will be beautiful as well as interesting and instructive. Come meet some sea critters you never knew before!

ARE YOU A RETIRED SINGLE WOMAN?
Then, the ChristCare Group, “Bright Future” is just for you! This group, facilitated by Joanne Peterson, hopes you will join them for the next 2 weeks -- or even one time – on Wednesdays, May 9 and 16; 10:00 – Noon. The group “is especially open and would welcome others!” Why not take this opportunity to be part of the group for the remainder of this 3-session term. Just show up in Room 302 (upstairs) or call Joanne Peterson or June Jackson at the church office for more information.

PARTICIPANTS NEEDED FOR CHILI COOK-OFF
Do you make a mean pot of chili? Is it so good that people talk about it long after it's gone? If so, come share your best recipe with your friends at church. We're having an EUMC style chili cook-off in celebration of Pentecost on Sunday, June 3. All interested chili cooks, please contact Pamela Frank by Monday, May 28. HAVE YOU VISITED THE THRIFT SHOP LATELY?
You will be surprised at all of the good things there. We have a wonderful variety of greeting cards at the best price anywhere. We have puzzles and games for the whole family. We are open Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. If you are interested in being a helper, call Elaine Jensen at 425-778-5920. It is a great way to have the first chance to see all of the good deals as they come in!

UNITED METHODIST WOMEN-BAKERS NEEDED!
Ladies it is time to get started baking for our Fathers’ Day bake sale. This is one of our few money-making events. We count on you to make it a success. Buy Dad a pie or cookies for Fathers’ Day, he’ll love it!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2012
Mark your calendars; Vacation Bible School will take place July 16-20. The SKY’s the limit because all things are possible with God. Come check out SKY, registration will begin Sunday, April 29. Forms will be available in the church office and after each service, cost is $40 per child, scholarships are available. Click HERE for more information.

ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATION CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP
Caring for someone with memory loss? Alzheimer’s Association caregiver support groups provide a consistent and caring place for people to learn, share and gain emotional support from others who are also on a unique journey of providing care to a person with memory loss. A free information and support group for unpaid care partners, family members and friends will be held the first Wednesday of each month from 10:00—11:30 am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lynnwood. For more information, contact group facilitator Kerri Heinen at 425-743-5918.

There is also an Alzheimer’s Support Group that meets here at EUMC on the third Tuesday of each month from 10:00 -11:30 am in Room 302. For more information contact Kim Spector at 206-890-9702.

Sunday, May 27, 2012 from 8:00 - 10:30 PM
Dick's on Capitol Hill/Compline service-St. Mark's at 9:30
Leaving the Church at 8:00 pm to drive in cars to Dick's for a social time around fries and sodas. (Bring money for this part!) Compline Service at St Mark's is next. We will be taking cars so call or text (206) 228-1849 so we can plan the transportation!
(You'll need a permission slip on file for this event!)

Important - ALL Youth NEED new permission slips to attend events for 2012. At the bottom of the Youth page of the church website page you will find the new forms, PLEASE print and fill out a form for your Youth and have him/her bring it to the next Youth meeting!
