Children's Ministries

SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES:  Sunday School classes meet regularly at 9AM & 10:30AM in the classes listed below. Resources used in the Sunday classes are based on selected stories from the Bible using the Revised Common Lectionary scriptures. Each unit of the “Whole People of God” curriculum helps unfold the colorful stories, the lasting truths, and the renewal of hope found throughout the Bible by using concepts that children and youth will understand. The "Whole People of God" curriculum has always been concerned with how the study of scripture connects us with the justice issues of our day. Children begin Sunday morning in the sanctuary with their parents or grandparents, participate in the first part of worship, then they are escorted to their classrooms with their teachers after a Children’s Message. A structured classroom model is currently being used with an emphasis on “belonging” and building community through relationships.

Mission Scouts
EUMC's Mission Scouts are elementary school children who attend a Mission Sunday school class and do work there focused on acts of kindness for others in some small way. Seasonally, when weather permits (escorted by adult volunteers and with a signed parent permission form) children ages 7 and older may work in the P-patch garden located east of the church while 10:30AM Sunday School classes are in session. Leaders of our program are taking a break and will return some time in late April or early May.

CLUB 56 is a monthly social group for EUMC 5th and 6th graders and their friends. Club 56 meets monthly to play games, take field trips, watch movies, do service projects, and other fun activities. Parents are often the hosts of the events and help plan the activities. Meetings have been difficult to schedule and will resume in May 2014.
Nursery Care
The church nursery is open from 8:45 to 11:45 every Sunday, welcoming infants and toddlers. Our professional Nursery Coordinator, Ms. Linda Anderson who has training in CPR and regularly follows universal safety procedures, but most important is the love shown to the children. The nursery area includes a well stocked play room adjoined by a quiet crib room, as well as a diaper changing area and a restroom. There are always at least two adult paid professionals for our infants and toddlers every week. And our parents love them both!

Childcare is available during the week for choir and hand bells rehearsals, committee meetings and fellowship groups. For mid-week childcare while attending a church event or meeting, please make a reservation at least 48 hours in advance  or to make any changes to a reservation.... phone or email the Church Office 425-778-2119 (after office hours, ext.108).
