Visitors/About EUMC During the summer, Sunday School for Youth meets on the first Sunday of each month at 10:30 for breakfast. On other Sundays, youth are invited to attend worship in the sanctuary at 10:30 AM for a more informal version of our regular worship service. From June 20 through September 5 there will be no regular Sunday evening United Methodist Youth Fellowship ("youth group"). Instead, we will have Mission Mondays and Theater Thursdays most weeks during the Summer months. Please see specific dates for planned activities.
Safe Church Policy
EUMC's safe-church policy states that: No fewer than two adults (unrelated to one another) will be present at all times during any church-sponsored program, event, or ministry involving Children, Youth & Vulnerable Adults (CYVA), including overnight trips, off premises activities or group gatherings. With this ratio of adults to Youth: 5th-8th grades -2 adults for 1st 14 youth (1 for every next 7) and Youth 9th-12th grades - 2 adults for 1st 16 youth (1 for every next 8)

Parental consent forms must be on file for each youth who plans on participating in "off-site" or overnight events with Edmonds United Methodist Church. YOUTH ANNOUNCEMENTS August 23
Monday, August 23
7:00-9:00 PM Mission Monday: Youth Hall Blitz! Be ready to work! Get the space ready for our lock-in later in the week.
Thursday, August 26
8:30-11:00 PM Theater Thursday: We will have Christmas in August! Bring a white elephant gift to exchange (wrapped gift worth no more than $5) and we will watch a favorite Christmas movie. We are inviting the youth from Bothell UMC to attend too! This is our last movie night of the summer!
Friday, August 27 – Saturday August 28
NOTE TIME CHANGE! 8:00 PM-8:00 AM Lock In! Let’s try playing Grog!!!!!!!! If you want to know you have to be there! We are still looking for two adult female chaperones by Thursday at 5:00 PM or we will have to cancel this activity.
Saturday, August 28
Starlight Sound Dance @ Bear Creek UMC! Starlight Sound Dance is a monthly gathering of United Methodist youth and their friends from all over Western Washington. This is the first dance of the new school year. Again, Carreen Rubenkonig has volunteered to drive and chaperone. We need at least one more adult to go. Please let Pastor Paul know if you plan to go so we can plan for enough rides and chaperones.

PLEASE NOTE! OPTIONS FOR YOUTH ON SUNDAY MORNINGS INCLUDE HELPING IN THE ONE-ROOM SUNDAY SCHOOL, THE NURSERY, OR THE PEA PATCH, OR REMAINING IN WORSHIP. IT IS NOT AN OPTION FOR YOUTH TO BE IN THE BUILDING UNSUPERVISED. WE DO NOT OFFER SUNDAY SCHOOL ON MOST SUMMER SUNDAYS IN ORDER TO GIVE OUR VOLUNTEERS A BREAK. OUR SAFE CHURCH POLICY REQUIRES A MINIUMUM OF TWO UNRELATED ADULT CHAPERONES AT ANY GATHERING OF YOUTH IN THE CHURCH BUILDING. PLEASE HELP US MAINTAIN A SAFE CHURCH FOR OUR STAFF, VOLUNTEERS, AND YOUTH. Youth Sunday school will resume September 5 during the 10:30 AM worship service.
