RALLY SUNDAY—WE ARE FAMILY!
Mark your calendar for Rally Sunday on September 12th right after second service. Wear your picnic clothes to church as there will be barbecued hamburgers and hot dogs, music, games, and best of all, fellowship. If your last name begins with A through Q, bring a salad to serve 10-12+. If your last name begins with R through Z, bring a dessert for 10+. To help with clean-up and keeping our church green, please also bring your own plates, cups, and utensils. Invite a friend to come to our family celebration!
MISSION SCOUTS—DONATIONS FOR AFRICA
In support of our friends Dave and Gretchen Peterson in Nigeria, Effective immediately, we are collecting pencils, pens, and felt pens, for the kids in their mission school to be creative, and to create art. Every year we try to send something in support of missions in Africa. The Petersons work with small children, ages 4 to 7. They will be in Edmonds area for 2 weeks, so we are trying to quickly pull together these donations. School supplies are on sale now, so hopefully everyone will help support this mission project. A box will be in the Entrance Hall for your donations. Thanks for supporting Missions. We will collect through September 20, but we hope that they can take some collected items back with them on September 3.

Coming in the Art Hall...it’s not really too soon to start thinking about what’s coming in the Art Hall in September, especially as we want everyone to contribute! Any kind of hanging art that says “summer”...flowers, birds, bees, sun, flowers, clouds, boats, fruits, flowers, and/or animals; lets all work to fill the Hall with color! 10-10-10: GLOBAL WORK PARTY, OCTOBER 10, 2010
On Sunday, October 10, 2010 (10-10-10) millions of people around the world will be joining Global Work Parties to do their part to reduce the amount of carbon in our atmosphere, and to demonstrate their solidarity with the planet and their belief that they can make a difference. The EUMC Green Team plans to join with other Green Teams, Sustainability Committees, and Environmental groups in the Edmonds area to work on a project together. As our contribution to this world wide effort, we will be working with People for the Puget Sound, Edmonds Unitarian Church, and Faith Community Church ( and maybe other churches, too) to clean up the Edmonds Marsh of noxious, foreign weeds. We'll be meeting at the marsh (in the Harbor Square area) at 1:00 or 1:30 on October 10th. The role of the marsh in the health of Puget Sound at our doorstep is apparently quite significant. We'll learn more about this topic from conversations with the People for Puget Sound. Save the date, and plan to join us! For more information about Global Work Parties, click HERE.
"OUR YOUTH'S CREATIVE PASSION SHOW"—SUNDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2010
