Older Adults Ministries

Older Adults Ministry Opportunities

The Older Adults Ministry Team exists to develop programs and fellowship opportunities to support and encourage older adults in their Christian walk.

There are many ways for older adults (age 50 and over) to become involved here at Edmonds United Methodist Church in areas of service and fellowship.

The Older Adults Ministry Team is always open to those who wish to join the team in the planning of events and activities.

The Older Adults Ministry Team

The Older Adults Ministry Team consists of individuals who plan and facilitate programs and events for the older adult population of our church, so that their Christian walk can be more meaningful and can help further their faith development in a variety of ways, as well as providing multiple opportunities for making new friends and building relationships.

The Team meets monthly on the second Friday at 10:00 a.m. to discuss updates on existing programs, visioning for new ways to reach out to others, and finding ways to facilitate fellowship.

Older Adults’ Camp

Each year during the second week in September, a group of older adults heads for eastern Washington to spend 3 days at Lazy Daze Camp. This is a relaxing time to spend in the Lazy F Camp and Retreat Center enjoying getting to know others from around the Annual Conference, hiking, workshops, campfires, great food, and other outdoor and relational experiences. There is also an Older Adult Spiritual Retreat held at Camp Indianola the first week in May.

On-the-Move Choir

The On-the-Move Choir is a group of singers who meet on the third Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m. to sing hymns and other favorite songs. Then the choir travels to nursing homes, rehab centers, etc., to bring the gift of music to those who are less mobile.
