Youth Ministries

This is more than just a youth group - it's a family. We welcome and embrace every 7th-12th grader who walks through the door. This is a place where God meets us - in how we treat each other, have fun together, worship together, and serve others.

  • This Sunday, September 24, 5:30-8:00p.m. - First Fall Youth Group - EUMC Youth Hall
Topic: "All Means All" - What it means to welcome and be welcomed unconditional by each other and by God.
PARENTS!
We need volunteers to help prepare meals for Youth Group each Sunday (Sign up Here.), as well as volunteers to engage in special one-on-one ministry to our youth and young people. Email Gregm@edmondsumc.org to get involved.

First Youth Group - September 24

First Youth Group - September 24

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in." - Matthew 25:35

The 2017-2018 youth ministry at EUMC will form a strong community of: Christian Love, Radical Acceptance, and Lifelong Connection.

September 24 - October 22: You Welcomed Me. All means All. Jesus had so many messages about radical acceptance, and we will learn and practice welcoming of all through games, stories, and guest speakers.

"Learn to Do Stuff"

Teach a skill, learn a skill, help those in need - video it and YouTube it. If you have ideas, or want to be part of this exciting new effort, email or text "I wanna YouTube EUMC!" to Greg (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).
Serve with Sunday School

Serve with Sunday School

Jennifer would love youth to help with Sunday School for younger kids, leading Godly Play and Shepherding the classes. This counts for Volunteer service hours. Email Jennifer to sign up!

You can also sign up to help in worship in many, many ways, from scripture reading, AV support work, joining the church choir, ushering, or more. Email Greg to Learn More.

Ways to Get Involved

Youth Group

Every Sunday evening (Almost, anyway), we gather together in the Youth Hall to eat, play, worship, and serve together. We figure that most youth already know about God, but we really want everyone in this group to really experience God through fellowship, FUN, worship, and serving to community. We're also always looking for youth to help us with Welcoming newcomers, being mentors or tutors, supporting our mission work, or helping with the worship team. We always begin with a group meal and announcements, then we move on to thematic activities and games for the rest of the evening! Come and join us!

Club 58

Middle Schoolers, Grades 5-8 - Beginning Friday, March 17th (Bowling) and Sunday April 2nd (Elevated Sportz, with the Sr High), we're starting outings or meetups for games twice a month. 7th and 8th graders (only) wanting "older" content can still come to Sunday Night Youth Group.

Worship Team

Meet at 5:00 p.m. on Sundays (before youth group) in the downstairs music room with Emily to be a part of the musical worship team to lead music in Worship - All youth and ability levels are welcome.

Youth Council

All youth, volunteers, and parents, are invited to our monthly planning meeting of Youth Council. This is where we discuss bigger plans like the Summer 2017 Mission Trip to Guatemala, plan fun outings, and hear about plans in the youth program.

Safe Church Policy

EUMC's safe-church policy states: No fewer than two adults (unrelated to one another) will be present at all times during any church-sponsored program, event, or ministry involving Children, Youth & Vulnerable Adults (CYVA), including overnight trips, off premises activities or group gatherings. With this ratio of adults to Youth: 5th-8th grades -2 adults for 1st 14 youth (1 for every next 7) and Youth 9th-12th grades - 2 adults for 1st 16 youth (1 for every next 8). And with parental permission, two adults are required to be present when traveling with youth in a car or van.
