Frequently Asked Questions
WHY PACKAGES?
Edmonds UMC Memorial Services are held as fixed package prices. We find that a la carte prices often lead to confusion and too many choices that grieving families need to make. Edmonds UMC therefore offers the packages above with additional services available, and discounts for our church members.
Families are welcome to bring in outside performers with no change in package fee. However, outside organists and pastors would need to be approved by the Pastor.
MUSIC
Though most musical decisions can be handled during the meeting with the Pastor, our Director of Music & Worship would be happy to meet with the family for specific requests.
A soloist is an essential and required part of all Sanctuary Celebrations of Life, serving as the lead voice in the musical selections. It is their role to guide and support the congregation in song, helping to create a meaningful and unified atmosphere of remembrance, comfort, and reflection. Their presence is not optional, but a vital element of the service’s structure and spirit.
AUDIO & VISUAL
Our Sanctuary is fitted with projection screens for showcasing family photographs. A church AV professional must be present & available at the time of the service. A portable projector and screen is available for slideshow or video viewing during the reception. A podium with an amplifier is also available to use during the reception. Live-streaming and more complex videography will require an additional AV Tech.
